Ukraine has reportedly made significant strides in its defense and production capabilities, with President Volodymyr Zelensky announcing that Ukraine is now building underground weapons factories. This strategic move aims to protect the country’s military manufacturing capabilities from Russian airstrikes, further bolstering Ukraine’s resilience.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones successfully targeted a Russian ammunition warehouse in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast. The strike is part of ongoing efforts to weaken Russia’s supply lines and infrastructure. The death toll from Russia’s Sept. 3 attack on Poltava has also risen to 58.
On the battlefield, Russia’s offensive near the key logistics hub of Pokrovsk has reportedly slowed down. Over the past week, Russian forces captured only 10 square kilometers near Pokrovsk, a stark decrease from the 73 square kilometers taken between Aug. 26 and Sept. According to Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russia’s advance has stalled, thanks in part to Ukraine’s strategic incursion into Russia’s Kursk Oblast, designed to divert Russian troops.
In another development, a Russian drone violated Romanian airspace during a Sept. 8 attack on Ukraine, escalating regional tensions. Additionally, Russian POWs are no longer allowed to call their families, according to the Ukrainian ombudsman.
