Shift In Germany’s Open Door Policy

Date:

Germany border plan to extend temporary controls to all its land is against EU idea of free movement.

BERLIN- On Monday Germany’s government announced the border  plan to regulate the irregular migrants. Government said that irregular migration has increasingly strained public services. However some expert analysts argue that the plans may be politically motivated and to get support of far-right conservatives ahead of state and federal elections. Police would be deployed at the border location of Germany from 16 September and would supervise the inflow of people into Germany to stop immigrant asylum seekers.

Recent deadly knife attacks in which the suspects were asylum seekers have stoked concerns over immigration. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a knife attack in the western city of Solingen that killed three people in August which compels government to reform border policies for their national interest.

Travelers may expect more random checks on cars, trains or buses crossing the borders which could result in some traffic delays and jams.

Poland Prime Minister says  “The German border policy is unacceptable” calling it against regional policy restricting freedom of movement for Europeans people. Czech republic and Poland had showed unpleasant reaction, Meanwhile Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a far  right , who has long called for more to be done in Europe to stop irregular migration, appreciated the Germany’s strict border control policy to stop illegal immigration.

Germany need to discuss the matter with other 16 European government to solve the immigrant Crisis However it can implement the border controls straight away, having already notified the European Commission of its decision and commission would decide further.
